We are going to Trakai: Trakai Island Castle and Peninsula castle with the museum of Sacred Art, a church of the Visitation of the St. Virgin Mary in Trakai, kenesa, Karaites and their culinary heritage. Free time.
In the afternoon – Tiškevičiai manor and the park created by E. Andre, The Hill of Angels, Varnikai reserve swamp trail. We go home in the evening.

Trakai historical national park. Interesting discoveries
Trakai Historical National Park is the smallest of all 5 Lithuanian national parks, established in 1991 with the aim of preserving the historical center of Lithuanian statehood in Trakai with its authentic natural environment. The area of the park is 8149 ha. It is the only historical national park not only in Lithuania but also in the whole of Europe. The vast cultural heritage of Lithuania is concentrated in a small area of the park. The beautiful landscape of Trakai Historical National Park is partly natural and partly formed. The last icing led to the formation of relief forms – lakes, swamps, hills.
There are more than 30 lakes in its territory. The largest lakes Galvė, Skaistis, Bernardinų, Totoriškių are connected. Therefore, the place is compared to Venice. There are Lake-salmon in Akmena Lake. Mixed forests grow around the lakes. There are many species of plants and animals protected in Lithuania and Europe there. A cognitive hiking trail has been built in the Ilgelis swamp of the Varnikai reserve, which surprises with its diversity of fauna and flora. There is one of the most beautiful birds in Lithuania, the Upupa epops nests here.
In Trakai Park, there are picturesque mounds, castle sites, manors, villages, single farms. There are 118 cultural heritage sites in the park! All components connect very harmoniously into the visual whole, and this leaves an indelible impression. intertwined the history of Trakai and the whole of Lithuania is intertwined in Trakai National Park. The park was famous for three castles – Old Trakai, Peninsula and Island castles. There is also the church founded by Vytautas the Great, Kenesa and the wooden houses in Trakai. Trakai is a multinational city, and especially the Karaites gave this city a lot of exotic colors.
Užutrakis manor with a neoclassical palace is a pearl of the landscape. And the author of the surrounding French-style park is the famous French landscape architect E.F. Andre, who has created more than 100 luxury parks in the world (and the charming Monte Carlo Garden Park in Monaco).
